The kids were so excited for School to let out and I wanted to do something extra special for them. I thought that Summer would lose it’s appeal when I became an adult…but I honestly get more excited every year. I was talking to my sister, Josie, the other day and she said, “I don’t even have kids in school and I get SO excited for school to let out and Summer to start. I have concluded it’s genetic….or as I prefer to say, “Jeanetic”.
Courtney and I planned a little shindig for the kids on Donkey Hill. We chose the windiest day of the year…which is even more windy on top of a hill, of course.
We had the kids make their own banner for the party, welcoming Summer.
The party day arrived.
My little fishies.
The spread.
Heart and Butterfly shaped watermelon…and a bowl full of cherries… soooo good.
Licorice and flowers… Veggies, Pizza, and ice cold lemonade.
And butterfly Rice Krispie treats.
The kids.
The pups.
Our new puppy, Piper, joined in the fun. Her mama, Georgie, was also along for the ride.
The boys got shell necklaces, since they are more manly. :)
Bryce? He doesn’t need a shell necklace to feel manly. All he needs is a blue umbrella. (In a pink cup)
The girls were girls.
Aren’t they beautiful? Should be an advertisement for LimeRicki…modest is hottest, baby.
After lunch, everyone stopped to enjoy the view. Bickies!
It’s heaven on earth….and there is nothing better than swimming, with the sound of a tractor in the distance and the smell of cut hay in the air.
The first jump!
There was music and some amazing acrobatics.
The pups took their turn. My friend, Meg, who does not approve of pet pictures, certainly will NOT approve of these. Look away, Meg. I’m assuming you won’t want to come over and swim any time soon.
Sadly, the day ended with multiple shark attacks. It’s not like we didn’t try to warn them.
Only one went willingly.
Cheers to many more days of fun in the sun on Donkey Hill!
