Summer bucket List: Pontoon Boat

One day this Summer, we enjoyed a weeknight out on a Pontoon boat.
We packed dinner in the cooler and loaded up on the boat to enjoy
a nice evening on the lake.
There were a few clouds in the sky, but nothing ominous.

The kids and I were relieved that we didn't have a repeat of our boating fiasco on Table Rock Lake when Tom tried to back a speed boat from the dock. That. Was an adventure.

Suddenly the storm clouds gathered and it began dumping rain.
Thankfully there was no thunder or lightning because a Pontoon can only get you back to shore so fast.

The rain didn't stop us from having fun.
It passed quickly and we busted out our picnic dinner.

Since we were the only people out on the lake, we let the kids take turns pretending to drive.

 I love being with them.

Lounging in the sun.

 The time came to pee.
He was anxious.

We told him to get in the water but he didn't have his swimsuit so he opted for the less refined way of doing things.

Look at the sense of accomplishment on his face!
Too bad they don't offer a merit badge for this.

 Lake Dancing

 I love this.

 And I LOVE him.

And them.

The highlight of the trip actually occurred AFTER the trip.
It was finding this journal entry of Bradley's.

THe Bucket List should have read: Pee off a Pontoon Boat.
Check.

Summer Bucket List: Drive-In Movie

We had a trip to the Drive In Movies on our bucket list, so when our friends invited us go with their family to see Despicable Me 2...we jumped at the chance.

It's an old drive-in...but aren't they all?
The kids rushed to play on their "Vintage" playground.
Kim and I were thrilled to find we share the same fear of hypodermic needles on vintage playgrounds.

Taylor and her family moved into our ward this year and they instantly hit it off.
Little Soul Sisters.
They are both such beautiful, sweet, and FUN girls.

This girl is an absolute angel.
Sweet Tenley, Ten, Tenders.

The girl behind her was a kid playing on the playground.
She was sweet while she was playing...but when she stood still and stared at me...she looked like the chick who crawls out of the well in "The Ring".

Little man Bronson.
This kid is the cutest.
Bryce is his "mentor" and thrilled to be older than someone.

Bradley was trying to sneak in one last slide while the movie was starting.

If you look in the background you can spot the Mommy Paparazzi.
I adore her.
She is the equivalent of coming out of a sauna - where you are ready to claw your eyes out because you are so stinking hot - only to inhale lungs full of cold, mountain air.

Yeah. She's pretty much completely awesome.

The boys were perched high on the back of Daddy's truck.

Kim and I went to the snack bar to grab some popcorn for the kids.
We encountered a bowl of pickles on the counter with subliminal messaging above.

Next to the bowl of pickles was a pile of paper pickle "sheaths".
We enjoyed a lengthy laugh.

After much deliberation, we decided to pass on the unsheathed pickles.
Maybe next time.

The movie was so fun.

Not pictured...but tucked inside a car seat that he is just about big enough to bust out of....was sleeping the most delicious baby ever. My mouth actually waters when I am around him because I want to gnaw on his meaty thigh. He is scrumptious. Gorgeous. Squishy. And smells like heaven, itself.

I have named him DoJo. (read Dough Jo)
He started crawling today and his juiciness is endangered. The days of squeezing those thighs are numbered.

Here are some previous shots of him:

Thanks so much for the great night at the movies and for your friendship!
Paw Luv It!
