Twicky Wabbit

The chicks and the bees were hung in the trees.
An energy filled the air.

The bunny so tricky....stuck out his bickies
his treats he was anxious to share.

The kids found their baskets....(not made out of plastic)
and discovered a toy or two...
And then noticed a riddle....stuck in the middle
amidst the Easter candies...so few.

His words were new...and full of clues
as to where the stash was hidden.
Down they crept, oh so sneaky....avoiding the stair that is squeaky
Just in case they would be bitten...

Karah cried, "He will eat me!"....so frightened was she
Until I explained he's an herbivore.

They continued their quest and found this egg with no nest...
slumbering in a tub....as it snored.

What's this? A pinata? Stuffed with a lotta
treats of all flavors and types?

The paper and mortar came from south of the border-
The bunny turned out to be the bilingual type.

They gripped it and stomped it and finally they ripped it
who uses a stick anyway?

One last crack of the fist and each other they kissed
they didnt even know what to say.

They divided the loot then Boo got in his suit
And headed to worship at church.
(though it was actually a shirt, sweater vest, and slacks because little boy suits creep me out)

We came home and Tom peeled -while the ham glaze was sealed
Mashed taters, glazed carrots, fresh beans....the works.

While fresh rolls were rising - I finished surprising
The kiddos with an Easter feast spread.

The candles were lit - it was ready - every bit
waiting for the guests...bless their heads.

They arrived and did feast till they felt like big beasts
Bryce even ate three rolls.

We chatted and rested while our feast, it digested...
then squeezed in some cake and ice cream. like trolls.

Our waists - greater latitude....our hearts full of gratitude
For our Brother, our Savior, and King.

We pray that all know - to Him they can go.
Hosanna! Let us all sing.
Happy Easter 2009!

Your table setting is so pretty. I love the lamb in the middle.
