Yesterday Tom and I were seriously considering buying some acreage to build a new home on. Today…second thoughts.
We have an abundance of space in this home…it’s just the desire for Billy goats, chickens, a cow, a huge dog, and perhaps a few llamas.
Yes, we struggle to keep our 4 pound Yorkie alive and in good health…but still….it’s the idea of it all :)
This morning I woke up to snow and was reminded how much I love our home and the woods. Upon further review of my second thoughts…I don’t think I could ever leave. Not even for ten acres full of pigmy goats.
Tommy T and I are avid bird watchers.
No, we aren’t 70 years old…but we still love it.
Our favorite bird? The tufted tit mouse … only because it feels naughty saying it.
We still keep the dream alive of owning acreage…filling it with animals and going to “visit” on the weekends….thus illustrating how ill-equipped we are to be farm animal owners. I suppose it’s more complicated than buying the animals and sticking them on our property.
Maybe we will stick with the birds.
