Hanging at the Lake

Kess and RayRay were house sitting for some friends and they invited the kids over for a day at the lake.

The house is situated above a little cove and has a fun tram that takes you down to the dock.

The kids began fishing and quickly made friends with a local crane that was looking for an easy dinner.
The kids caught fish...the crane ate the fish.

He waited patiently for his next course.

If you don't believe me...watch this video.
Gags me. Every time.

The crane enjoyed the fish a little more than the kids did.

The crane ate more fish that it physically should have been able to.
The thought of them flopping around in his little bird belly makes me seize up.

That bird still wouldn't leave.
He had worn out his welcome.

They had a blast kayaking.

I love lakes for boating...and fishing....but NOT swimming.
That's what pools are for.
Why?
This is why.

Shivers.

The kids are much tougher than I am.

At the end of the day they were all wet, stinky, and worn out from all the fun.
Mr. Crane was the saddest to see the party end.

These are the days Summers are made of.
