New Addition to the Family

Today I gave birth. Okay, not really. It just FELT like I gave birth. I did something equally challenging…I dealt with a car salesman all day. It was 5 long hours of debating, negotiating, manipulating (quite well on my part), sweating, and a few times…yelling. I was relentless until I broke the man. Just like childbirth – the end result was worth every moment of discomfort. I walked out the door with my bundle of joy and instant equity. I talked them down to $7,000 below blue book value. Yes, I said “I”. Unlike childbirth, I buy cars alone. It’s the deal I have with Tom. He hates the stress and awkwardness of it all. Those car salesman thought I was easy prey when I walked in…but they were the ones close to tears when I left. If I may quote the angry dealership manager…”I got my pants pulled down on this one…and having my pants around my ankles doesn’t get my mortgage paid.”

Boohoo Mr.Salesman. Boohoo.

Goodbye Honda Odyssey. You served us so well for the past 8 years.

Hello Infiniti QX56. Already I love you.

  2. Oh yes...the green car with vinyl seats that my brother John liked to sit on when he had a hole in his shorts and no underwear on? I will be doing an underwear check before he goes on a ride with me.

  3. Totally impressed, I hate car shopping! And I love the new car oopps I mean SUV! Brad will be green with envy, but I just have to remind him you had the van for 8 YEARS before the new swanky SUV. You are helping my cause.
    Congrats!

  4. Awww, isn't she lovely. I love that she had a photo shoot. Have you named her yet? I was there for your last labor, I wouldn't have missed this one for anything! I love ALL your babies! :) And you are very welcome.

  5. That delivery sounds even more painful than childbirth. I would happily birth quintuplets before sitting in a dark room with a salesman for five plus hours. But it was worth all your blood, sweat, and tears. She is definitely a beaut! Can't wait for a ride in her! So jealous! :(
