Every Man’s Wish

branson nov 2010 339

When you are 3…lots of people want to know what you want for Christmas. Your teachers at church, the checkers at the store, neighbors, and Grandparents…even your dentist.

Bryce was recently at the dentist for a cleaning. By the time his hygienist finished cleaning his teeth – he was quite ready to get down. He didn’t see the need to be “inspected” by the Dentist, too.

In an effort to keep him distracted, the Dentist asked, “What do YOU want for Christmas, Bryce?”

Loth-of-woodyth”, Bryce whispered back.

The hygienist was obviously fluent in “childrenese”...she looked to the ground and bounced up and down as she quietly chuckled to herself.

The Dentist looked up at me in confusion and whispered, “What does he want?”

He shares the same Christmas wish of every man….Lots of Woodys.”

He burst into laughter…turning bright red…and answered, “You said it…I didn’t.”

I love to watch the expressions of all of the community members when they get the answer to their question….”And what do YOU want for Christmas?”

Priceless.

Woody tips his hat to you. Merry Christmas!

  1. A few years ago, Gus Murray had an affection for all things toy story, and carried the dvd case around with him everywhere. On their way to our house, once, he announced from the back of his car, "Oh I can't wait to show Reese my Woody."
    Awesome.

These jokes never get old for me.
    I'm ten.
