Tyler and Paula: The Perfect Marriage

Chef #1: Tyler Florence

I am thinking I am going to have Tom pose like this next year for our family photos. So hot.

I bet Ty picked that Rhubarb with such force…just like Tom would.

I am convinced that Tyler’s photographer carries a large mirror around…so Tyler can check himself out instead of having to look into the empty abyss of a camera lens.

Chef #2: Paula Deen

Got this Christmas Card from Paula this year. The back of the stamp smelled like bacon drippings.

Process:

To “set the stage” and feel more like the chefs...I made a few adjustments. First off, I wore a button down Oxford underneath a fitted sweater.

And then I let Bryce rub his Cheeto fingers ALL over me before I started cooking.

With that…I was ready for the perfect cooking marriage.

First off – was making the marinade. Simple, quick, and FUN!!! This marinade was so aromatic…you could almost taste it. The best part of this marinade is the use of Chipotle Chiles in adobo sauce. Wow. FYI….I cut the ribs and seeds out of these…to take down the heat and there was still a great “kick” to the meat. If I were Emeril, I would so say “Bam!”

I used Flank Steak, as listed in the recipe…and added a couple of chicken breasts, too.

I tucked them in for a 4 hour nap in the fridge.

I did all of my prep work this morning…so i could just throw the meat on the grill at dinner time and only have the rice to deal with. That- was a great idea. Smooth Sailing.

As far as Paula’s Mexican Rice recipe goes…I followed it strictly…only adding some yellow peppers for color.

Added some water and some of this…

And it simmered and steamed away.

While I was waiting, I added avocado to all of my pre-chopped ingredients to make Tyler’s Guacamole.

As the meat rested, I took care of the peppers and onions. Tyler suggested drizzling the vegetables with olive oil and squeezing fresh lime juice on them. Incredible flavor. Will definitely make this standard practice.

Oh….also…I made some Pico de Gallo to go with the meal, earlier in the day. Recipe Here.

SERVING:

Tom…upon chewing first bite…

Doesn’t it look like he is shooting love beams my way???

REVIEW:

Tyler – Can I call you Ty? I understand why you are so in love with yourself. I think I am in love with you, too, after tasting these fajitas. After I finished dinner, I had to go and gaze at myself in the mirror for awhile. I get it now. I do.

Paula – I am afraid Tom is going to run off with you.

Video Review: (Warning *this meal sent Bradley WAY over the edge. A bit out of character…but amusing, nonetheless.)

Stay tuned to see what’s cookin’ tomorrow!
