2012 is going to be year of productivity. I can feel it already…after seven days. Ha.
I am doing things a little differently this year. I have made several goals for myself…most of which will remain unspoken until the day of my glory when I can announce what “has been” accomplished. Isn’t that more exciting than announcing my hopes and then never hearing anything else about it?
I also have a journal where I write down one goal/day in several different areas. Relationship, Physical, Spiritual, Mothering, HomeKeeping, and Financial. I know it sounds like a long list…but these are simple, measurable goals. The goals are made the night before…and I schedule out when I am going to do each thing.
At the end of the day, seeing I have accomplished every goal I had set for the day, I feel invigorated and proud of myself for what I have done. It may be small, but it has already made a big difference. Like they say…How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
One thing I would like to do is post my menu every week. I have always been a menu girl, but 2011 was hit and miss as far as consistency goes. I had a record number of balls in the air last year and many things that used to take priority were tossed in the back seat.
2012 is the year to Say Yes to Less….put the brakes on…and focus my energy where it brings me the most joy…at home.
I, personally, don’t care much when other friends post their menus (no offense). I don’t expect anyone else to care about mine…so take note that this is for my personal reference AND to make my kids feel guilty when they are tempted to mistreat me when they are teenagers. “But look how she faithfully fed me!!!! I can’t do this to her!!!” --- Posting a menu also makes me accountable and ups the odds that the Pizza man will not be called.
I am also going to make a greater effort to keep up my recipe blog in 2012. I posted today – and realized it had been a year since I had done anything with it. Shameful.
Last night, to celebrate the 65 degree weather, we have soup and hot rolls. Yes, I know, not well thought out. Pics compliments of my iPhone…my new favorite friend in the kitchen.
