I've Got the Golden Ticket!!!!

Too bad I don't have a lazy uncle who can miraculously be healed and leap out of bed to dance around the room as I announce that "I've got the golden ticket!!!" That show always bugged me....(Willy Wonka)....that dead beat of a grandpa - hanging out in bed with all of the genuinely sick and afflicted.....but when he hears there is a chance to tour the factory (something in it for HIM) - he suddenly has energy to run, click his heels, and shout for joy. He reminds me of the scooter-bound in Walmart - who can stand up and beat you with their purse while they try to get the last black Friday GPS unit....and when they get it - they ditch the scooter and run for the check-out aisle. Holy tangent.



Back to "I've got the Golden Ticket!!!" I received an award today from my sister Josie!!!!

I am supposed to list five obsessions and then pass this award to my five favorite blogs!

Here we go with my obsessions. I will think of some new ones that weren't on my last obsession list....heaven knows I have many.

A. Shopping Obsessions

1. The cart. If the alignment is off - or there is an annoying wheel....back to the front of the store it goes.
2. The product. The item must be taken from the back of the shelf and appear to be "unmolested" by the public. Produce must look happy and "prove" that IT is the one that wants to go home with me the most. Warning....these conversations spawn weird looks.
3. Conveyor Placement. Must be placed in order I unload.
4. The checker. The shortest line doesn't equal the best. You all know that there are superior checkers. Those that dont put everything in one bag, only to break in the parking lot. Those that dont put cans on bread. Those that ASK if you want your water left out. Those that don't feel they have to tell you their life story. OKAY - So maybe this one I can't avoid.
5. The payment. I am a check payer. I hand them my check and they look at it - and then me - like they dont know what to do with it. I am the only person in the entire region who still uses checks. I like them.

B. Rubs

1. I love a good rub. I love to pay people to rub me. I love to solicit free rubs from Tommy T and Courtney (who is a mighty fine rubber). I have even stooped to the level of making my children rub me with their little hands....and sometimes an electronic back massager. When my brothers come around I usually finagle my way into getting one out of them. I honestly would let ANYONE rub me. The guy holding a sign on the side of the road.....yup. Will work for food? Will you RUB for it? GIMME GIMME GIMME.....I NEED I NEED!

C. The 5 senses

1. Sight- Addicted to Fox news....any news.....watching the stocks. My brother Mat, financial planner recently banned me.
2. Smell - LOVE my newest purchase - the scensy! (wax burning thingy). Love the smell of candles, sprays, lotions, shampoos, babies, Tommy T's whiskers, cleaning products! Love it all!
3. Touch - Rubbin'.....see above
4. Hearing - Music must be playing at all times! No matter the season....always, always music.
5. Taste -Love da food. Love to create it. Love to eat it. Love to share it.

D. Laughter

1. A girls gotta laugh. The only problem is - I do it at the wrong time, in the wrong place, at the wrong people. I'm gonna get hurt one of these days. For instance, I learned this weekend at my first "dog show" (blog coming tomorrow) that it isn't socially acceptable to tell someone their dog looks like the one in the movie "Annie". I was almost punched.

E. My Men I Stalk

1. Deck Elf - This is the tiny little guy that built my deck. I grew to love him. He was like a father. I went out and talked to him each day - baked for him - brought him hot chocolate. I think I mistook my love for the deck with a love for him. I named him deck elf (behind his back)....until Bradley with his speech impediment would yell "DICK ELF" whenever he would walk by. That wasn't good.
2. My Obstetrician- I have missed him ever since I gave birth. I look forward to pap smears. He switched and is now just a gynecologist - and I secretly hope to have some menstrual irregularity that causes an unexpected visit. He was my doctor for each of my pregnancies....a fixture in my life. I guess I could stop parking outside of his house at night and watching for him in the hospital parking lot.
