Monday morning we woke up, enjoyed breakfast, and headed to the Oquirrh Temple Open House. This was our first opportunity to take the kids to an open house, so we were really excited.
At the beginning, we went to a tent where they showed a brief video about the history and purposes of temples.
We then went on the tour. THIS was one of the many times when it was BEAUTIFUL having Courtney there to help. It was really crowded and the boys lost patience waiting in line...so she entertained them out by the fountains while Tom and I took Karah through.
You weren't allowed to take photos while inside...so I snagged these from a church website so Karah could always remember it.
The Double Staircase
The Brides Dressing Room
The Celestial Room (Her favorite)
The Sealing Room
The tour ended in the Sealing Room. It was neat for Karah to sit in a room just like where her Mom and Dad were married and sealed together for time and eternity. She loved the mirrors on opposite walls that gave an infinite reflection. It was so special for us to be in this room with her...thinking of the day we would be with her...for her marriage. It was amazing thinking back on our wedding day...knowing that all of our children would be sealed to us...and then sitting there with our daughter, ten years later....knowing fully...she is bound to us forever.
The spirit there was incredible.
On the way out, Bryce was sure to remind us that though he was reverent for the temple...we still had a battle on our hands...
We headed to"Kneaders" for lunch. Wow that was yummy!
Karah provided us with a little comedy while we dined.
We then went over to Mat's and hung with the cousins for a bit before we headed to Midway. After we got settled in and stocked up on groceries....we headed to the pool...of course.
After a quick dip, showers, and jammies...it was time for a little take-out. Wow. Incredible Salsa Bar and best Mexican food we've had in a looooong time. Tarahumara.
