The leaves are beginning to fall...cool air has arrived...and the kids are beginning to ask for Hot Chocolate again.
I LOVE this time of year.
Tonight our family decided that tomorrow is the day we need to start busting out the Halloween decorations. The kids were bouncing off the walls with excitement.
So…in honor of the change of seasons - I have decided to devote this week’s menu to homemade soups/breads. I will try and post pics and recipes each night on my recipe blog for your pleasure….that’s right, pleasure :)
I LOVED having all of you post your menus last time…and would be so excited if you would do it again…and feel free to share any soup recipes that you love.

ReplyDeleteso if i just pick up chicken noodle soup from Atlanta Bread Company on Thursday, does that count? I can't top their chicken noodle, so I don't try anymore.
Mmmm...yeah it is bread season.
I make a chicken tortellini soup with sauteed carrots, celery, onion and red and green pepper and add it to chicken stock, shredded cooked chicken, and 1 can cream of whatever (usually chicken or celery) to make it creamy, then add frozen cheese tortellini last minute. I put a great deal of garlic parmesan seasoning, italian seasonings and southwest/mexican seasonings in it. it you love da spice...add 1 tiny can of diced green chilies to the pot. yummy.
Love soup! But, I can't believe that you actually cook 7 days a week. I only plan meals for 3 maybe 4 days a week. We eat a lot of leftovers and then usually something else comes up for dinner the rest of the nights! I am so super impressed! I do have some yummy soup recipes, and I'm excited to try yours. Do you have the Zuppa Touscana one from Olive Garden-it's yummy and easy?
ReplyDeleteRenee-Due to my childhood- I have major issues with leftovers. In fact- Thanksgiving is one of the only times I can handle them. Tom usually takes leftovers to work for lunch the next day - but I try to make just enough to feed all of us without them :) As far as cooking dinner goes- There are weeks when I dont cook everything planned...I know how things pop up - especially in the summer...but once school is in swing - I can manage to make what I intended to.
ReplyDeleteHow bout I come out there and make you dinner after you have your baby??? Love you.
That would be the BEST ever! How about you come out and help me get this baby delivered :) You are a woman of sooo many talents.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember leftovers at your house; I just remember Sunday Spaghetti dinners and Friday night hot dogs and fries. We never had fries at our house and I thought that was the best. I also was jealous of kids at school whose moms would buy white bread for their sandwiches and Little Deb snack cakes for dessert. I had to eat homemade wheat bread and homemade desserts. What was I thinking?!?!
