Dirty Underwear

I was talking to my sister this morning about laundry.

She said, ”I have 7-8 loads…and there are only three of us!!!”

I ranted on how annoying it is to have three children that each wear 3 outfits/day.

Like a slap across the face that brings you back to reality, she said, “Better that, than going to do laundry for them and finding ONE pair of underwear in the bin after a full week.”

My mind instantly went back to my teenage days. My little brothers were going to Scout Camp. My mom went to great lengths to make sure they had everything they needed. She bought them each a 10-pack of brand new underwear. They returned from camp a week later and my mom unloaded their clothes from the backpacks…ready to tackle the muddy, sweaty, laundry…saturated with campfire stink. What did she discover as she pulled everything out of their packs? Two 10-packs of brand new underwear…still sealed in the package.

Thank you Josie, for helping me keep things in perspective.

Dirty underwear, I welcome you.
