Ushering Out Winter Break

Christmas Break came and went entirely too quickly! Tommy T and I decided that we would have one last "Hurrah" with the kids before they had to return to school on Monday. On Saturday, we booked a room at the Embassy Suites and checked in for a last ditch slumber party. They had a package (The "MPG" package) - which included a free pay-per-view movie, a large pizza with a six pack....of soda :)....and a $20 gas card.....for the price of a regular two room suite. Can't beat that.

Tommy T was not feeling well.....at all - but still wanted to make sure the kids had a memorable "last real day of vacation". I love that he sacrificed for them - when he could have easily stayed home and slept, instead. Best Dad a kid could wish for.
The kids celebrated when they heard the news. Karah started singing in her opera voice....
...... and the boys stood on their heads.
We packed our overnight bags (including church clothes for this morning) and headed out.

When we arrived, of course we wrestled first.
Yes, Bradley is receiving a kick to the face. So resilient, he is.We then headed to the pool.....things were a bit crazier than usual at the pool
since Bryce can do this now......He was a hot-tub-jumpin maniac.

We came back to the room and lounged in our jammies until room service came.

I couldn't help but sneak this picture during prayer. Bradley couldn't contain himself. He was tapping his fingers, frantically -
with his tongue hanging out of his head.

"GOD BLESS US! EVERYONE!"

Bryce dabbled in the pizza....until I nice tomato-ey goo had been formed on his face.....and then quickly ditched it for the root beer. He would take a swig and then gasp....eyes watering....as he felt that glorious burn on the way down. He threw back about 12 ounces.....belly bloated from the carbonation mixed with pizza dough......I think I saw dough bubbles coming out of his belly button at one point.

We chose Beverly Hills Chihuahua as our movie....high class. We later headed down to the lobby for a late night snack search. The sundry shop was still open - so the kids loaded up on ice cream and swirly lollipops and headed back to the room. Oh, and I found some toffee :)

There was a lot of elevator riding and "I want to push the button!' going on.
As well as a heart attack as Boo tried to scale the wall to see what was on the other side....

We rented yet another movie for the kids....as I played Sudoku through the night on the DS.
The kids fell asleep....eventually........very eventually.....and we arose the next morning for the breakfast buffet. Every mother deserves to start her Sunday morning off this way..... someone else cooking.....cleaning up.....and keepin' the bacon coming.

(which, by the way, I noticed that every Omelet maker at EVERY Embassy Suites I have ever been to - is identical. Snoop Dog look- a-likes..... ...so friendly in their little chef hats......soft spoken..... humble, despite their obvious superiority in the Omelet flipping department)

When we finished.....we loaded the kids up.....
And Rolled 'em out.

We headed to church (Karah, Boo, and I)......we were early.....and happy.
Maybe we will do this sleepover thing EVERY Saturday night. Hmmmmm.......

Spending this last night of fun with them - really reminded me of how much I am going to miss them when they are back in school this week. Just look at them.
I love them from their Rosy cheeks........

To their juicy lips......
All the way down to the goo.

Thrice Blessed we are.

  1. You guys are such cool parents. That sounds WAY fun!

And I love that Snoopdog made your omelets.

That pretty much makes you famous.

  2. What a fun thing to do! We'll have to try that sometime! Our kids LOVE staying in hotels. Your post is so sweet, and I'm with you...I hate going back to "real life" after a fun, relaxing, family filled holiday break. :(
