We will let the pictures tell most of Friday's story...
The train eventually dropped us off at Vivian Park and we got suited up to raft the wild and crazy rapids of the Provo river, or stream :) Had fun listening to Mat and Tom sing. "FAT GUY IN A LITTLE VEST"
It was a blast - saw lots of wildlife along the way. I even saw real life sheep dogs. I was ignorant enough to think sheep dogs were just a breed. Duh. These were the real deal - herdin' da sheeps.
Some igmo crashed his kayak into the "bridge of death". He had supposedly been warned not to go that far. Our raft guide rushed to save the day.
The water was 47 degrees - but this didn't stop the kids from jumping in to take a dip...as if they hadn't been swimming enough. Mat and I were soon to follow - as we found this rock to jump off of in a deep part of the rapids - which carried you downstream a little bit. It was fun - minus the walking barefoot in the river and having the razorblade rocks gash me open and make my feet sore for the next two days.
Oh, and before you go and start feeling all soft and tender for Mat - when you see the pic of him helping me out of the water....please understand that previously he had stuck his FOOT out for me - as I was being swept under the water....with him laughing hysterically all the time. He aint no sweetie.
Brrrrrrr.........
Later that night after we recouped - we all went over to see Renee' and Kevin at a friend's house they were babysitting for. It was the opening night of the Olympics - so we got takeout Chinese - in honor. Renee' and I went to pick up the food and while we were waiting in line - I said something that made Renee laugh so unexpectedly that she spit all over my face. It was oddly endearing. We went back to the house and ate ... and of course.....we swam.
We all slept well that night!
Wow, what a full day!!! The river looks like so much fun!
