Saturday - Day 3 Things Looking Up!

After the late night at the carnival, the kids decided to sleep in. I went for an early morning workout at the Homestead. I almost suffered cardiac arrest running on a treadmill at that high altitude. Wow! In an interest of my heart health - I decided to never work out again on my vacation :) And as long as I was at it - I thought it would be best if I ate whatever I wanted, as well. It was a great plan....one of which I now pay the consequences.

I was scheduled for a massage at the Zermatt later that morning. When I got there - I had a run in with the "grossest" guy. After he showed me what a jerk he was and how gross he was, he notified me that he would be my therapist that day. I informed him otherwise and told him I would reschedule with someone else. Yikes!

As soon as I returned, we all got ready to go for a swim at The Zermatt.
Mat spent most of his time launching all of the children. Who needs the carnival when you have Uncle Mat? There was lots of squealing, flying through the air, and laughing.

The kids loved the Zermatt pool because there was an outdoor pool that was connected to an indoor pool. There was a little, tiny passageway that connected the two that you had to swim through. Kind of like a secret trap door. It was really neat.

We all had a great time laughing at Mat when one of his wrestling sessions went awry and he got racked between the legs. (as seen below). Tom and I laughed and laughed.

But Bryce was not amused!!!
We finally gave him a turn in the pool. It was a little chilly - so he preferred the hot tub. This hot tub was great! It was big and had a waterfall going into it off of a stone wall. I loved it and so did he. He just wanted to cuddle while he lounged with me. It was heaven!

From time to time, Bradley would come join us to warm up.

He was sure to leave on his "Doggles".

Our peace and relaxation was threatened towards the end of our pool outing .......... when we met HIM.

Don't be fooled by his sweet little face. This kid is a chip off of the 'ol Lucifer block. He approached us in the outdoor hot tub. His greeting was, "What are YOU doing in here?" I told him we were soaking in the hot tub and asked him what HE was doing.

He said, "I'm going to cut your head off with a knife and kill you!"

I, not being a fan of obnoxious and threatening children, had to let him know that he was treading in dangerous territory. So, as ANY responsible adult would do - I replied, "Well, then I'm going to have to unbuckle your life vest and let you drown."

Most children would have been dissuaded and swam along - but not the little devil. He kept coming back for more and his threats continued. I believe it was my eyes that eventually scared him off. Not my words.

Sometimes you just have to use that Mama Bear Stare. We went home and showered and had some good napping time. We rented some movies and went out to dinner at The Zermatt with Mat and Lori and all of the kids. We all lounged around and then called it an early night and headed to bed! We were going to attempt to go to church in the morning.....

  1. Oh, I'm so excited you added day three! I love it! Bradley looks so cute in his doggles, and I love the picture of Karah and Bryce on the bed. Oh, and I laughed my butt off at the part about Mat and then the picture of Bryce. Hilarious! I was reading just waiting and wondering if you would include the story about Mat...and you didn't let me down. Excellent! Can't wait for day four!
