Okay - things are getting fuzzy. Who cares if something didn't happen on the day I said it happened! It's all running together now! But let's pretend it happened.....just like this....
Tuesday morning, Tom went to the spa to get his calves rubbed. Nothing else, but the calves. He still had to lay naked under the sheet :) No escaping that one at the spa. I think I even got naked for my pedicure.
After that we swam. It was very wet-n-wild. (NOT the cheap, waxxy lipstick that your parents thought was okay if you wore when you were 10 - because it wasn't "REAL" lipstick.)
We drove by a place in Midway called The Cuckoo Cafe. We HAD to stop for lunch because of the special meaning. It is a family term - "cuckoo".....compliments of John - reserved when describing someone particularly odd. I am proud to say that I took the phrase to the next level and coined the phrase "CFK" DECODED............ "Cu-Freaking-Koo". Should you choose to adopt this phrase into your personal repertoire - please be advised that it is to be used most sparingly....to preserve the integrity of the "freaking" part.
Imagine our disappointment when we went in to find cuckoo clocks hanging on the walls, instead of images of the biggest freaks in history.
We then made a trek to Lehi. A hellacious trek. Why don't children appreciate beautiful scenery? Why is that not enough? The grab bag of annoying behavior included screams of "HOW MUCH LONGER!" and "YET ME ROLL DA WINDOW DOWN DADDY!" There was a steady eruption of either the baby crying or Bradley's sphincter. (I'm guessing it was a manipulation to get Tom to roll down the windows on the interstate). While we are on the topic - would someone like to explain to me how in Hell's name a smell that big comes out of a boy that small? Baffling. Tom added to nausea by heavy braking and unnecessary lane changes. We went and visited Tom's his sister in law, Shawna, and then went to a birthday party for Kourtney, at Mat and Lori's house. After what ended up being a 4 hour exorcism of the kid's less than desirable behavior - Tom and I enjoyed an AWESOME ride home!
We drove slowly, with the windows up, with nothing to listen to but the sound of each other. Sweet release!
There is beauty all around...When the kids are asleep
Whew, what a day!
